24/10/2012 – The RTÉNL analogue TV network was switched off at 10am on Wednesday October 24th. Following this the SAORVIEW network took its final configuration delivering SAORVIEW to over 98% of homes in Ireland.

4/10/2012 – A special edition of RTÉ’s Nationwide programme on the topic of SAORVIEW and ASO was broadcast on October 3rd 2012. It featured recent and archive footage of RTÉNL’s TV tranmission network. It can be seen here.

As of October 2011 RTÉNL has signed an agreement with the team at Siteshare Ireland for them to provide RTE NL with the latest software on the market to help manage RTÉNL’s site access procedures for all Broadcasting and Telecommunications sites around the Island of Ireland.

Siteshare is a cloud based site management solution for operators. It provides integrated workflow, which automates communication and documentation between third parties. It delivers 24/7/365 access to the sites online calendar. In additions, Siteshare also delivers contractor induction management, accreditation management, asset management and quality control of works done. Its extensive reporting enables business intelligence, audit reporting and site intelligence.

RTÉNL is the first company in Ireland to use this software and participated in the design phase with the Siteshare team to help bring a product to the market place that not only adds benefit to the end user but also the service provider. RTÉNL is delighted to partner with the team at Siteshare and sees them as a valuable part of the RTÉNL offering to its customers around site access processes.
